Thw Witch's Hat is very clean, there are great laundry and internet facilities, the beds are confortable and while there are opportunities to have fun, there is a clear respect for the choice as there are boundaries around noise late at night. HostelBookers review by Eileen 3/5/08

The Witch`s Hat is like a hostel should be. Friendly atmosphere, good common facilities, action if you like it or a quiet night if you prefer that. And it`s not that far from the city centre: Even if you`re not such a fast walker, you should be at the station in about 15 min. Petra (from Germany) 6/5/08

Great hostel, lots of character. Well set up, lots of room, a quick walk to the downtown, even closer to a great bar/restaurant district. Locking gates, friendly staff, and very clean. Had a great time there. Cheap internet, great tv lounge area. HostelWorld review by Cory - 30 April 08

Brillaint hostel, everyone is really friendly, the staff are very helpful and can give you lots of advice on what to do and stuff going on. There is always someone having a drink/going out so you'll have a good social life. HostelWorld review by Alex 26th Feb 08.

What a hostel - arrived intending to stay a week, stayed 3 months - did some night managing - think we did a pretty good attempt on the record for the most complaints from the local neighbours, and I was almost always involved!!!). Kinda looked after the place in Jan 05 - Kev took over night managing duties (and had no complaints... humph!)... them were the days! Being back home and working sucks! do you remember me?? Johanna, german chick from (very messy) room number 10, September till December/January?? I just wanted to say bye to you and Australia cause I'm flying to New Zealand tomorrow! I loved Australia so much and it's really hard to leave but I will surely come back! Guess where I'm gonna stay then?? Right! The stay at the Hat was the best time I had in Australia and I will always think back and have a smile on my face! It's pretty much the best hostel I stayed at so far but I reckon you already know that... Anyways, you'll get a THUMBS UP! from me! Keep up the good work and take care! This is a great hostel, really nice terrace out the back, nice living room with comfy couches and huge tv, and the cheapest internet around! Dorms are nice, showers always warm and loads of people to meet with and share stories with. Definitely worth a visit HostelWorld review - 8/10/2007 by Katie

Witches Hat, What can i say, i had such an amazing time here, thankyou for making my first week away from home so easy, and my first hostel experience such a good one! The only problem now is finding a hostel that is as clean, friendly and fantastic as this one. Special thanks to Hopper who put up with all my questions and for running such a great hostel. Im gutted to be leaving, but am grateful for being able to stay here and have such a good time & meet some amazing people. Miss you lots Michelle x
